SECP has issued a concept paper on Risk Based Capital (RBC) regime outlining the possibility of moving from existing solvency framework to RBC framework. The proposed framework provides for best estimates of technical provisions along with explicit risk margins covering all types of risks which individual insurers are bearing. It also deliberates on the calculation, levels of capital adequacy, methodology for available and required capital and different risk capital charges.
The concept paper was released on 08th Dec 2022 and deadline for submission of feedback is 06th Feb 2023. We have prepared the attached presentation to simplify the understanding of RBC framework to facilitate the review process. We would be happy to discuss the proposed RBC framework and assist you in providing feedback to SECP. Please do not hesitate to contact us via email (fahad.nadeem@digitzdata.com) or call (0333 2375428) us to discuss it further.
